Richard is a British graduate geologist and corporate executive with over 35 years’ experience in mining, mineral exploration and project financing.  His career started in 1989 as a mine geologist in South Africa before moving into mineral exploration in 1994, focussing on precious and base metals exploration projects in the Americas and southern Europe prior to co-founding Helio Resource Corp – now Winshear Metals – in 2001.

Richard has been CEO and Director of Winshear since 2004, and the company explored and developed base and precious metals projects in southern Africa and Peru, before recently agreeing on the Thunder Bay Gold Project in NW Ontario and Portsoy Ni-Cu-Co project in Scotland.

Between 2015-2024 Richard was CEO and Director of Cornish Metals Inc and instrumental in the acquisition of the South Crofty tin project in Cornwall, raising ~$100 million for the project, and listing the company on the AIM exchange in London.
