Laurie Hassall is a Senior Consultant Geologist at Snowden Optiro with over 15 years’ experience in mineral exploration, project development, and mining operations, with a strong focus on UK-based projects. He has worked across the full project lifecycle, from exploration targeting through feasibility studies, operations, and independent technical reviews.

Laurie specialises in resource estimation, geometallurgy, and operational optimisation, with expertise across tungsten, tin, lithium, and wider base metal systems. He has played key technical roles on several of the UK’s most significant tungsten and tin projects, including the Hemerdon operation, and has also supported lithium and base metal exploration and development in Cornwall.

At Snowden Optiro, Laurie acts as a Competent Person and technical advisor on international critical and base metals projects, delivering mineral resource estimates, technical reviews, and due diligence. He is the Competent Person responsible for geological modelling and MRE delivery for the Redmoor tungsten project in Cornwall.
