Fraser is a geologist with a 26 year career in industry and he holds a degree in Geology and Applied Geology from the University of Glasgow. His first job after graduating was as an exploration geologist in Bulgaria, which led to being the project lead in the early exploration of the Ada Tepe gold deposit, now a high grade open pit gold mine producing 100,000 ounces per year. Since then, he has worked as geologist and exploration manager on discovery, exploration and mine development projects for gold, copper, tungsten and nickel in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia. Roles have included Country Exploration Manager – Saudi Arabia for Barrick, and Chief Operating Officer for AIM listed Ormonde Mining.
After finally moving back home to Scotland during the pandemic, Fraser joined Aberdeen Minerals Ltd as CEO in July 2022 and is relishing the exploration for battery metals and critical minerals within the prospective geology of Aberdeenshire.
