Dean Thornewell is a seasoned British business executive with over two decades of leadership in the global mining equipment industry. He served as Operations & Service Director, later Managing Director at Joy Global Eurasia from 2008 to 2018, overseeing a £300 million operation and expanding the company’s presence in Europe and Asia. Dean also represented Joy Global before the UK Parliament’s Business, Innovation and Skills Committee, providing insights into the mining sector.

Following his tenure at Joy Global, Dean took on a role as Managing Director in the mining and construction component supply chain, leading the company through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, he was appointed Managing Director of LiuGong Machinery (UK) Limited, where he is currently driving the adoption of battery-electric vehicles in mining and construction equipment.
