Joe is a multi-disciplinary geoscientist who harnesses traditional and modern data science techniques to improve our understanding of Earth surface and subsurface processes and resources. He is bilingual in R and python for geoscience applications, and is a champion of data science and machine learning in the Earth sciences.

Joe holds an undergraduate degree in Geology and a doctorate in geochemistry. He has worked in various R&D roles in academic, government and research organisations, including the British Geological Survey and the Viridien Group. Joe currently manages consultancy services at Geotek Ltd, a global leader in non-destructive instrumentation and analysis of geological core and cuttings samples.
