Jon graduated from the Royal School of Mines at a time when mining jobs were in short supply.  As a result, he remained in London and took up a career in IT, most of which was spent managing project for investment banks.   Upon retirement he relocated to Cornwall and became a volunteer at both Poldark Mine Museum and King Edward Mine Museum, where he currently holds a position as trustee.
