Chris is the responsible mining lead at the Department for Business & Trade (DBT). His team supports UK companies working in the mining and mineral proecessing industries, encouraging UK exports and attracting investment into mining and mineral projects. He is a former professional geologist who focussed on geotechnics and engineering geology.

Chris has worked on site for projects in Sudan, Iceland, Antarctica, Gibralta and the British Isles. He started his career working for a British junior mining company as a gold exploration geologist in Sudan.
